The Gradebook allows you to set preferences for operating your Gradebook. To access the "Gradebook Preferences" window, choose "Gradebook Preferences..." from the "Edit' menu.

The preferences range from presetting the term used for new entries, to the decision to display weighted averages on the Main Screen.
