STUDENT INFORMATION

Like all information in Report Card Maker, the student information required is defined by you. Some want to print the student's birthday. Others want to print the student's primary language. Usually, when we incorporate your forms into RCM, we look at what is on the forms and create a list of student information that is needed to complete the forms.

There are a number of ways to get student names and information into Report Card Maker.

Click "Add New Student" on the main screen and enter the information. This is the easiest and most hassle-free way to create your student list.

With Simon, you can import students from an ASCII file. This is a good solution if you are concerned about data validity. If you are going to be collecting grades from your report cards at the end of the year, then you might use this option to ensure student ID numbers match your database. When you import the grades into your student database or mainframe, you want to make sure the data lines up.

Another solution to the above scenario is to use our Network Solution to create your teacher files from the ASCII file (rather than having the teachers import the file). When the files are created, they could be copied to your server where the teachers can access them. Or, you could simply e-mail them out.
