Manage Administrators
SIMON allows you to create and manage your administrator accounts. There are several types of Administrators:
- ADMINISTRATOR - When a user logs in to RCM with an administrator account, they will have access to SIMON (you cannot access RCM from an administrator's account).
- ADMINISTRATOR - Print Only - Like the Administrator account, this account type will give access to SIMON (you cannot access RCM from an administrator's account). However, they will only have access to printing the report cards and attendance features. No data can be added, deleted or modified. Use this type if you have a user that needs to print report cards and/or access attendance data from multiple schools.
- TECHNOLOGY ASSISTANT - A Technology Assistant is someone at a school site who needs access to all teacher's data at that specific school. Technology Assistants do not have access to SIMON.
- PRINCIPAL - When a user logs in to RCM with an Principal account, they will have access to RCM and all the teachers (and students) at the school you select. However, they will not be able to enter or modify any grades or comments entered by the teacher(s). They will be able to add notes to the teachers and add Principal's Comments to the student/parent that will be printed on the final report card.
- VICE PRINCIPAL - When a user logs in to RCM with an Vice Principal account, they will have the same access as the principal (described above). A Vice Principal is, in essence, the principal. Entering data as a Vice Principal is the same as entering data on the Principal's account. Basically, the Vice Principal is the Principal's assistant.
- OFFICE STAFF - When a user logs in to RCM with an Office Staff account, they will have read-only permissions to view data. They can also print any report card from their school.
CREATE AN NEW ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT
Next click the
New Administrator button. A new administrator will be added to the list. Edit the administrators information as desired and click "Save".
EDIT A ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT
Simply double click the desired Administrator in the list and edit the information as needed.
DELETE AN ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNT
To remove an Administrator account, double click the desired Administrator in the list. The click the
Delete button.
IMPORTING ADMINISTRATOR ACCOUNTS FROM A PREVIOUS YEAR
When RCM/SIMON roll over to a new school year, all data (including students, teachers and administrators) are reset. Since Administrators are often not included in the standard import, SIMON offers several options to bring last year's administrators to the current school year.
To begin, click the
Administrator Options button and select one of these options:
- Import Specific Administrator From Last Year - Lets you choose a specific administrator to import.
- Import All Administrators From Last Year - Pretty obvious, imports all administrators from last year.
- Import All Administrators From Last Year of Type - Lets you select a specific type of administrator to import. All admins of the selected type will be imported.
